An Introduction to caring for people with a Learning Disability (ICPLD)

This is a newly developed course is suitable for all staff and volunteers who are new to working in the Health & Social Care sector.

This course is only available for group bookings.

Learning Outcomes:

  • A knowledge of what a Learning Disability means.

  • A core understanding of the impact of having a LD.

  • A foundation for the principles of caring for PWLD.

  • An ability to assess the role of different Organisations in providing services to PWLD.

  • A knowledge of some of the many syndromes that exist within the LD population.
